Blackwood River Marathon
Blackwood River Marathon
The Blackwood Marathon is a thrilling annual relay race held on the last Saturday of October. What began in 1979 with just 54 competitors, this race now draws over 750, including many iron-men and iron-women. The marathon features five challenging legs: running, canoeing, swimming, equestrian and cycling.
Alongside the race, there’s plenty of entertainment for everyone. The race finishes at the Bridgetown Sports Ground, where food and refreshments are supplied by local community groups. After the presentations, the celebration continues with a licensed bar.
The Blackwood Marathon is not just about competition—it’s a full day of fun, community spirit, and entertainment for all ages!
